Overview

Syneron is a pioneer in non-surgical medical aesthetics equipment. With advances like its patented elōs technology, Syneron is leading the industry and keeps its IT staff very busy in the process.

Like many fast moving companies, Syneron had an IT problem. They had thousands of documents on their servers. Files were difficult to find and even harder to share with the clients that needed them.

Maintainable Software built the Syneron File Depot, a web application to solve this problem. It replaced messy shared folders and FTP sites with an easy-to-use system that changed the way Syneron employees work with their documents.

Features

Tagging and Search

Rather than search for documents in deeply nested folders, users simply upload files into the system and tag them. In addition to tags, files can also be given a description. Files can be found quickly by searching for tags or words in the description.

Shopping Cart

The depot application uses a familiar shopping cart to allow users to select any number of files as they search. The files can then be downloaded as a single ZIP archive, emailed to clients, or even faxed.

FTP Support

Users can upload files easily through the web interface or through FTP. When files are uploaded though FTP, they are automatically placed in a staging area. Users can then tag the files and they will be transferred into the depot.

Document Management

The depot application automatically manages all of its files. It eliminates duplicates and stores all documents securely in a structure that scales to millions of files.

Interfax.net Integration

Integration with Interfax.net allows documents to be faxed directly from the depot. The depot maintains a queue and monitors the status of each fax during transmission. An administration page provides detailed monitoring.

Salesforce.com Integration

Integration with Salesforce.com allows users to authenticate instantly through a tab on their company Salesforce.com site. It also integrates with the user's contacts, leads, and tasks.
